Out of a love for natural materials

Sophie Casier is a designer driven by a deep fascination with forms, colors, materials, and above all: light. She studied applied arts, furniture restoration, and marble techniques at the Institut des Arts et Métiers in Brussels.

Her work is a constant search for balance and beauty, in which light always plays the leading role. Casier works with a wide range of materials such as wood, brass, steel, bronze, aluminum, ceramics, pigments, oil paints, and pastels – but it is light that connects everything. Light softens, calms, and brings harmony.

From her home studio in Brussels, she creates objects that play subtly with light and shadow. In addition, she is planning a winter studio on the Mediterranean, where the natural light further nourishes her creative process. Her design philosophy is rooted in capturing nuances of light to evoke emotion and create quiet, comforting spaces.

Cycle is a tribute to the earth, a tableware collection inspired by the peony and the quiet, slow rhythms of nature; from seed to flower. Nature speaks without words, but reveals itself through its transformations. Deep underground, the earth rests, only to come to life again: seeds germinate, sprouts grow, everything unfolds at its own pace. Each piece in the collection captures such a moment in that natural cycle, inviting stillness and the feeling of nearly invisible nuances.
