Beauty arises between form and imperfection

Suuz Studio is the artisanal ceramic project of Suzanne Wathelet, a Brussels-based journalist specializing in decoration, design, architecture, and travel. For years, her reports have appeared in national and international magazines. Alongside her career in the press, she now explores the world of terracotta, a passion sparked during a workshop in California, where she fell in love with this ancient art form. Back in Belgium, she discovered the joy of hand-crafting unique pieces using the coil-building technique.

Inspired by the modernist and organic architecture of the 50s and 70s, this Belgian artist unites function and decoration in her work. Her objects take on a contemporary, wabi-sabi touch, where imperfection and authenticity are central.

Her creations have already been exhibited in Brussels, the Netherlands, and France, in contemporary art galleries and renowned interior design shops. In addition to vases and tableware, Suzanne also designs lighting objects that explore the boundaries of the familiar and invite wonder.

Eclipse was born from cosmic inspiration, that rare moment when the sun and moon align and the world is immersed in a play of light and shadow. The cubist design language reflects the lines of a city, gently enveloped as the moon slides in front of the sun. Each creation carries a spark of the universe within it, a subtle reminder that light always persists, even in the shadows.
